Disability advocate, feminist, people (and dog) person. A graduate of NYU Silver School of Social Work, and an inductee to Phi Alpha honors society for academic merit, Alison is a Master of Social Work (MSW). With a background working with adolescents and adults in both clinic and school settings across a broad range of ages, diagnoses, and interventions, Alison has a passion for working with young women and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (ID), which prompted a career change from Marketing.
Alison has experience in individual psychotherapy with strong skills in building a therapeutic alliance, assessment, treatment plan development, research, and utilizing interventions such as CBT, DBT, MI, ACT, Play therapy, Exposure, EMDR, and Somatic-based therapies with an evidence-based and trauma-informed lens. She has a history of conducting both grief and socialization groups and is adept in case management support for housing, legal, home health, transportation, and especially OPWDD services. Alison has spearheaded macro-level initiatives, including allocating a $5k grant to provide S’well water bottles to students and pitching to receive a CEO signature from NBC Universal for disability inclusive workplace policies.
Alison will be taking her ASWB exam for licensure this June.
